There is a lot of shit to cover in this post, but I'll try to make it quick.
Decades Apart Productions is leaving Colorado. We've made a lot of shorts here and two features. However, we feel it's time to move on.
I started a new YouTube video series. Check it out.
One last thing. I had to cancel production on my third feature because scheduling things would be insane. I don't want to reveal too much what it's about but yeah, schedule would be garbage.
I also had to cancel A Final Hit 2. Because I had to cancel it and it won't ever be made, I'll talk about what it was about, while I'm at it, I'm also going to take on No Tomorrow.
A Final Hit 2 was going to open with Ivan reading a newspaper stating that the park shooting suspect was killed in police custody. Ivan goes home, gets drunk and passes out. Veronica comes into the room and beats up Ivan, guts him, and chokes him with his own intestines. The movie would then center on Veronica tracking down who killed Mark. All the while, Detective Castillo from Through the Devil's Eyes would be tracking her. It was going to be the film to finally solidify all my movies taking place in the same universe. However, Joe Calverase moved out of state and the actress playing Veronica has a very hectic schedule and would only be able to shoot one day a week.
No Tomorrow was a film that centered on a nameless protagonist, whom for the sake of this blog I'll call Jerry, and his quest for his missing wallet. The film opens with Jerry and his buddies talking about martial arts films. Jerry leaves but is mugged on the way to his car. He calls the cops, blah blah blah. He goes home to his roommate Rocko Vivaldi (whom you may recognize from A Final Hit) and goes to bed. Jerry talks more about movies with his friends and then they meet Charity St. James.
Real quick, I believe the character of Charity St. James was seen as some sort of insult to the drag community, which may have hindered us from people getting interested in the film. Charity was based off of Divine, which is why it was so baffling to me. I wasn't attempting to offend anyone but if I did, I don't care.
Anyway, Charity is a straight drag queen (which he mentions when one of Jerry's friends calls him gay) who just so happens to be a psychopath. Charity says that money was stolen from his club and the thief left behind a wallet, Jerry's wallet. Jerry tries to say that his wallet was stolen but Charity refuses to believe him. Charity gives Jerry and his friends three days to get his money back.
Jerry and his buddies set out on an adventure to get Charity's money back. They eventually find the thief, who so happens to do parkour and knows martial arts. Jerry and his buddies manage to overcome the thief and find out the amount Charity says was stolen was not actually stolen. Jerry goes and beats up Charity and as Jerry leaves, Charity kills himself.
There was some other stuff like how Jerry is haunted by his past and manages to overcome it (he realizes he's not a monster but Charity is for all the stuff that he's put Jerry and his friends through). They also talked A LOT about movies.
The reason I spilled the beans on both of those films is because they won't be made, ever. No Tomorrow seems way too weak to me now and I can't believe that I ever thought it was a good project. The version of A Final Hit 2 that I wanted to make is impossible with the conditions as they are now.
All of this being said...there is one final thing I want to announce but I won't tell anyone until 2016.
