So we finished the first few days of shooting A Final Hit. We're a little behind where I would like to be but still got TONS of stuff shot. Yes, that means I was planning to actually shoot like 10x what we actually did. The film looks freaking awesome so far. I'm really glad I hired a cinematographer to shoot it for me. He's really freaking good. I told Mike Dillon that Through the Devil's Eyes made Invisible Diary of a Disabled Man look like crap but A Final Hit makes it look like diarrhea splattered against a bathroom stall. I'm serious. I decided that we are going to enter several festivals with it and if it doesn't get into one single festival I'm going to quit movies, sell all my equipment, sell all of my DVDs, and jump off a bridge because I apparently don't understand movies and have sunk too much time into making movies.
Yesterday was my best friend's birthday and I realized how fast things are going. I realized that it's been two years since that shooting and I didn't even think about it. I guess that's good, right? Not realizing that it's been two years because you're so busy with other things. I thought about putting it on my imdb page but felt that would just be dumb. It's not something I want defining me, it's something I truly want to move past and forget that it happened. Instead, I want to make even crazier movies...and I think we're doing just that. Awesome!
By the way, I took Through the Devil's Eyes down for the time being because there are a few festivals that I forgot I sent it off to that haven't finished their submission period yet. It's a good thing I only sold one copy to someone I already know. Whew!
I realized that the year is already half over and so I decided to look over my goals for Decades Apart Productions for the year and holy crap, I've finished almost all of them:
• Send Through the Devil's Eyes off to a Festival
• Get a Logo
• Finish Script
• Film Next Film
• Get a Better Website
• Get Business Account
• Distribute Through the Devil’s Eyes
• Get business license
*Goals in red are completed goals.
Not bad for some white kid who doesn't have tons of money. Also, I sold my first copy of Through the Devil's Eyes earlier this week! YAY! If you haven't seen it yet, definitely buy a digital copy. I'm looking into possibly doing DVDs but I'm wondering if the cost would outweigh the profits. Maybe if I get enough purchases of the digital copy, I'll look deeper into it.
As for A Final Hit, we had our rehearsal on Sunday and now we're going to begin shooting at the end of the month. I'm super freaking excited to start shooting this movie. I just hope it ends up even half as awesome as it looks in my mind. Here's hoping...
Hello and welcome back to another rather dull edition of:
RJ Cusyk and his Crazy Ass Films
Now, let me clarify, I do not make Crazy ASS Films nor do I make CRAZY Ass Films. Actually, I don't make any kind of ass films. Sorry, I'm in a weird mood today. I realized that I haven't updated in a month so decided to drop you guys a line. Let's see...last weekend I cast the film. I have my thugs coming over this weekend to try on their thug clothes and make sure they're nice and thug...get it? Instead of snug, it's thug. Yeah, it's a dumb joke.
So I discovered something truly awesome. I decided to google my last name because...eh why not? I discovered that the first page is mainly me...and my Grandpa who passed away last year. Anyway....
I also added a button to my page. Do you see it there? On the right. YAY! You can pay me $3.99 and I'll email you a free link and password to Through the Devil's Eyes. I honestly don't plan on making more than maybe $10, but who knows?
That's all I've been up to recently. Just working on this next film and thinking of ways to get my old one out there.
