Yesterday was my 25th birthday. I'm now an old man, ha ha ha. I was feeling a bit depressed about it for a while because I kinda feel like I haven't really accomplished much. Well, I did make two films since the last birthday and as of tomorrow it'll be a year since we began shooting Invisible Diary of a Disabled Man. So maybe I do have a few things going for me after all.
I'm continuing working on my new script and I've let a few of the people that I have already decided I want to cast know about the upcoming script. When will I be shooting? I'm not sure yet. I do have someone willing to put up some cash for this project and I've been kinda sorta putting together a budget on the side for a more valid budget. I know that I definitely want a lot of gore, I mean A LOT!!!!!!! The language in this film is also going to be really foul, it's just what the script calls for. I'm not really letting out any information as to what the film is about to the general public right now (I think only one cast member knows what the film is about even).
I also came up with a list of goals I'd like to reach with Decades Apart this coming year. They're very realistic goals and I think most of them can be reached within the next 8 months. Yes, one of those things is get a better website. I really look forward to the future of this company. I look forward to a lot happening this year. I've got a good feeling about all of this.
Here's the poster for Through the Devil's Eyes
Yep, there it is. I planned on unveiling it on imdb but they want to charge me $30 to post it. $30 which could easily go towards a festival instead. I'm sending the film into six different festivals (won't tell you which ones) so there's always that to look forward to.
Also, Marco and I have begun writing a script together. I won't give any details other than I plan to make it into my next film. Do not ask any questions concerning this next film because it's still in the writing process.
I'm not going to be putting up my new website yet because I need to pay for the festivals and am also looking into getting a logo made. So yeah, it's going to be a while. It's a good thing I still have blogger. Well, that about covers it.
Well, we had the premiere for Through the Devil's Eyes today and everyone hated it so much they formed a lynch mob with torches and pitchforks.
Just kidding. Surprisingly, for me, everyone loved it. Pretty much everyone wants to work with me again and I'm more than willing to work with them. Now, I return to my boring ass life just trying to get along while I silently contemplate my next film. I'm already working on scripts but I need to think of something that I can do with a fairly small budget. I just need some time to think this through.
I'm far from done with making movies. I guess I'm a sadomasochist that way. The cast brought along their family and even the family members enjoyed the film. People were more surprised that I made it practically on my own and it turned out as good as it did. I hear a lot of them are in really crappy films that they end up really disappointed (well crap or their films never see the light of day). I'm just glad the film ended up liked by everyone involved.
Well, I'm tired, it's been a very long day. I may not post for a while but when I do, I'll try to make it something worth while.
If you would like to hear some music from the film, there's this little link here.
