So we had the premiere for A Final Hit last night. Afterwards, a few of us went out for drinks and pizza. It was possibly one of the greatest nights of my life. Everyone came up to me and told me how much they loved the movie and the only complaint I got was some of the audio scenes seemed off (mainly the change in audio) and that was from my financial person and a guy who does music. That was the only complaint I received which made me very happy. Overall, everyone was extremely happy with the movie and I'm very happy about that.
The guy who's going to be my Director of Photography on No Tomorrow was telling me how much he loved the movie and was surprised how good it came out despite how little we had to work with. Even members from another crew here in town mentioned the desire to work with me. I'm very happy right now. Most people were shocked that I didn't work on anything between this and Through the Devil's Eyes and how much of a leap I made in my filmmaking style. Nothing could make me happier than I am right now, except maybe if I didn't have work in the morning.
So yeah, I'm writing this at 2 in the morning so I should probably go to bed. I'm just so happy that this film was so well received. I told all the No Tomorrow people that the only thing I need is funding and we can start on No Tomorrow. We have gone from nobodies to geniuses pretty much over night. Imagine what people will say when we not only increase in style but also direction and quality with No Tomorrow. Right now, I feel invincible.
Thank you everyone who has stuck by me through the years and thank you to the people who couldn't tolerate my bullshit. All of you are so important to me right now...though that might just be the booze talking, ha ha.
Seriously, thank you.
Hey guys, I've been extremely busy getting ready for the premiere next week so I haven't been posting much. I've put together the DVDs for my cast and I've rented one of the theaters here in town. I'm really excited and nervous for that. I'm also working with Amazon to start selling digital copies of the movie and eventually DVDs. I think that would be really cool and will let you guys know what's going on with that.
I have a lot of stuff going on in my personal life so it's good that I'm staying busy. I am nervous that people will hate A Final Hit and I have no idea how I'd respond if everyone hated it. I don't think it's a great film by any standards but I do think that we made a pretty good film. I've also been working on putting together things for No Tomorrow. Yes, we're still working on No Tomorrow. I also am reworking a script I wrote a year ago called To Wish Impossible Things. The situation I'm going through right now has helped fuel that script a bit more so I guess a special thanks is in order when I finally make that movie.
Anyway, like I said, I'm going through some personal crap so it's good that I'm nearly working myself to death. It helps me get through the day and the night.
Well, I just wanted to give you guys an update and now I'm going to watch some Shion Soto movies.
