"RJ, why are you covering this movie? My parents told me that all of the Texas Chainsaw sequels are terrible." Not this one!
I'm going to assume if you're reading this that you've seen Texas Chainsaw 1, if you haven't you need to see it. It may seem a bit cheesy by modern standards, but it's a landmark film that helped kick off the slasher movie craze. Texas Chainsaw 2 is the Jason 6 of the Texas Chainsaw series. That's right, it only took them two movies to realize this was the route to go. If you go into this movie expecting a retread of Texas Chainsaw 1, you're going to be in for a bad time. This movie focuses on Dennis Hopper who is trying to track down the Sawyer family. Chop-Top (Moseley) is definitely the highlight of this movie and brings such an energy that it's easy to see why Rob Zombie would use him in his own Texas Chainsaw inspired films. His character is crazy in both a fun way and the psycho way. He's twice the fun! The climactic showdown is also a complete trip featuring Dennis Hopper facing off against Leatherface in a chainsaw duel to the death. Seriously, if you haven't seen this movie, you're definitely missing out.
