I may have mentioned before that I saw Terrifier and All Hallows Eve last year during the first Spooptober. I heard there was a second one coming out and I wanted to get caught up on the story before its release. I didn't like either of them and was rather hesitant to watch Terrifier 2 because of that.

I'll be blunt, you don't have to see Terrifier or All Hallows Eve to enjoy the hell out of Terrifier 2. My daughter did not watch Terrifier but did watch Terrifier 2 with me and she enjoyed it a lot (she's also fifteen). The first movie doesn't have much of a story and everything you need to know about it is explained in the second movie. There was a clown who killed a bunch of people the previous Halloween, the end.

Terrifier 2 is more along the lines of standard Slasher complete with a final girl played by Lauren LaVera. I really liked Lauren's character a lot, she was likeable enough without coming across as either a Laurie Strode-type final girl. I also enjoyed how her character played into the lore of Art the Clown.

Yeah, isn't that crazy? Art the Clown has lore now! It's extremely convoluted and kinda weird, but it's there as opposed to him just being a psycho clown who may or may not be from Hell.

Overall, I think Terrifier 2 was pretty good. Leone has improved in writing and directing and I will definitely keep an eye on him to see what he makes next time. Who knows, he could soon share a boat with RKSS and Joe Begos as the only modern filmmakers I give a shit about.
