Picture
Starring: Ryo Ishibashi and Eihi Shiina
Written by: Daisuke Tengan
Directed by: Takashi Miike

I did not initially like Audition. I watched it because I saw it on a list of disturbing movies and spent the whole time waiting for something disturbing to happen. It was also one of the first foreign films I saw.

I re-watched it later with the knowledge of what I was going to watch and reveled in how great the film was. A few years ago, I showed the film to my daughter without giving her any knowledge about what the film was about except for the following:

A widower uses a fake audition to find a new girlfriend.

If you know nothing about Audition, watch it with this little bit of knowledge and I promise you will enjoy yourself. Audition is a very raw film that is not for the faint of heart.
