Starring: Graham Skipper, Lauren Ashley Carter, and Larry Fassenden
Written and Directed by: Joe Begos
Picture
Joe Begos is easily one of my favorite directors on the scene right now. It's basically him and RKSS. I love them because they are making low-budget movies and doing more than just a standard indie movie of people working in a convenience store a la Clerks.

If you can look past a smaller budget, Mind's Eye is a wild ride. The poster claims it is the Scanners sequel we never got and I would be inclined to agree with them.

The effects are fun and are extremely refreshing in the current stew of CGI that we get with modern cinema (yes, indie films are guilty of this too). The cinematography feels greatly improved upon when compared to Begos' previous feature Almost Human.

The Mind's Eye opened my eyes to Joe Begos and made him instantly one of my favorite modern directors. While it may not be as good as VFW or Bliss, it's still a blast to watch and I highly recommend it if you guys haven't seen it already.
