We've had fun this Spooptober, right gang? Sure, there was a website glitch that caused a few days to be published early, but that's been fixed now. Well, as Spooptober draws to a close, it's time to bring out the Fulci. A lot of lists of horror movies tend to contain the same movies. Exorcist is usually heralded as the scariest movie for spooky season, but I want to be different. I have never been shy about my love of Lucio Fulci. City of the Living Dead is a movie about the gates of Hell being opened and the invasion commencing on Hallow's Eve. You see why I waited on this one? That's right baby, it's a zombie/demon possession movie! The atmosphere in this film is just off the charts. Everything feels so gloomy and the cinematography is top notch. There are great jump scares and great tension building throughout the film. Of course the gore is also a lot of fun, but you should know that by Fulci. Thus brings end to another Spooptober. Maybe we'll bring it back next year for Spooptober III: Son of Spooptober. If you are not aware, I have written a new book. It, like City of the Living Dead, is heavily Lovecraft inspired. I didn't sit around writing a thousand page tome like certain authors do, it's a quick read and is now available for pre-order. If you enjoy Demise of Film or even the weird movies I talk about, I suggest picking up a copy. Who knows? You just might enjoy it.
