I don't really want to move out to Hollywood. I know that I'll be eaten alive. Look at Christopher Nolan, he made two low budget movies that were pretty good, a boring remake, and then he did BATMAN. Then he did an awesome movie about magicians and an amazing Batman sequel and another movie that everyone thought was awesome but didn't really know what it was about (it's about making movies). He was God for ten minutes. Then he did another Batman movie that was really mediocre (it wasn't good but wasn't terrible either) and because it didn't live up to fan expectations, he's become the new George Lucas and Lucas has become the new...um? Walt Disney? I don't really care. The point is Chris Nolan is awesome but has now become the new George Lucas.
Is deleting your facebook account considered a thing of legend? Not deactivating it, I mean actually deleting it. I used to have a facebook but it became too much like high school (especially with everyone from high school friending me) so I deleted my account. You have to jump through all these hoops and even sign a consent form at the end of it, but it is possible. However, everyone I meet tells me how much they hate it but they don't know how to delete their account. I also am pretty awesome since I've been able to stay away for four years now (actually, I've gotten one recently to put my movie on the streets but none of my personal info is really out there. Just pictures from the set and such). It's pretty hard to do, which I guess is supposed to be the case. Damn you Mark Zuckerberg!
Is it weird I'm really liking Stone Sour lately? I mean REALLY liking Stone Sour. It's like the only band I talk about. Hell, I'm surprised I bought that Darkest Hour shirt the other day instead of a Stone Sour one. Then again, it was on sale...and I had to replace my old one. Plus this one is way more bad ass. Anyway, yeah I've really been digging Stone Sour lately and I don't know why.
I really want to finish this movie already. It's become a pain in my arse. One day was completely bonkers because we shot a whole bunch of things that I hadn't really anticipated because a certain actor couldn't show. I'm sticking by my guns though, if this movie turns out even halfway decent, I'll be happy.
I often feel like I'm going to be like Ingmar Bergman. No, I'm not saying I'll go down in history for radical shit like The Seventh Seal or The Virgin Spring. I mean in the context that I'll hate every film I make. I love making movies but I can't stand to watch any of my movies. People ask me all the time how I feel about Invisible Diary and I honestly say it's not very good. Many people really enjoy it and say that for shooting it on $600 it's very good (it was actually shot on $635, I was told to round to the nearest hundreds when submitting it). Granted, there are some complaints but overall people like it. Now, all the complaints people bring up are the same complaints I bring up against myself, well those and a bunch of others. The only complaint that I actually got upset about was when I was told, "it's too green, it looks surreal." I took offense to this because THAT'S WHAT I WAS GOING FOR! I hate everything else about that film but I am always happy that it looks surreal.
I constantly rip on myself about Invisible Diary, apparently one time to the point one of my actors from the film thought I was unhappy with their performance. I said "No, I'm not happy with MY work on that film. It has nothing to do with you guys. I feel like I failed myself." So whenever you hear me ripping on Invisible Diary, that's why. I wasn't happy with what I did.
Why haven't I showed you guys the trailer yet? Seriously, I've been rambling on about my random thoughts while I've had this awesome trailer waiting for you guys. Honestly, I started this random post before I even finished the trailer but have been so busy with other things that I forgot to finish it. Anyway, here's my Though the Devil's Eyes trailer.
So hey world, I got my camera back today and am already planning what to shoot this weekend. I have also begun editing because...well the movie has a ton of stuff shot and I'm afraid if I don't start editing that everything will just be a huge pile of downloaded footage and I won't be able to find anything and I'll start worrying that I have to reshoot and AHHHHHHH!
Ha ha ha, man, I think I'm sleepy. Then again, I probably will have no recollection of this post after it goes live. Anyway, we're ready to start shooting again and I'm excited as hell to do it. YAY!
